PhoneX does not negotiate any TCP ports, it is all done by Avaya CT Client and Server interaction. PhoneX (including Licensing functions) all utilise Avaya CT as the transport.
The default port used by Avaya CT is port 450. This port number may be changed.
After initial negotiation on port 450, a list of available links and port numbers are returned to the Avaya CT client. These will be in the range 1024 - 5000 by default with five TLinks required per Avaya CT connection the Definity/MultiVantage. This range of port numbers may be restricted to a specific set of port numbers.
For changing the initial port number or the range of TLink port numbers, please refer to the Avaya CT manual Netmangd.pdf available in the DOCs directory of the Avaya CT CD.
Important
If the check box Only Allow CSTA TLinks is left checked, only the CSTA ports will fit into this range. All other links will fit into the default range of 1024 - 5000. Active License server uses the OAM TLink not the CSTA TLink. Uncheck the check box to have all TLinks inside the specified range and allow a range large enough to support a minimum of five TLinks per connection.
