Product Licensing for Active Telephony

All applications that run as part of the Active Telephony suite require runtime licensing. Licenses are managed and issued by the License Server, an Active Telephony component that runs with Avaya CT. This component must be installed and running on the Avaya CT server, with a valid license installed, before you can start another Active Telephony application.

Runtime licensing for current products can be summarized in the following manner.

Desktop Applications:

Active Agent, Active Attendant and Active Explorer require a single runtime license for each running copy of the application. Applications can be installed on as many desktops as required however, the number of simultaneous running copies will be governed by the License Server.

Note: Active Wallboard itself does not consume a license.

Server Applications:

IVR Server - requires one runtime license for each IVR port that is administered and controlled by the IVR server.

Call Routing Server - requires one runtime license for each VDN that is controlled for Adjunct Routing purposes.

Interaction Data Server  - requires one runtime license for each VDN, and each Split/Skill (Hunt group) and each Trunkgroup that it is required to monitor.
Note: With the release of Avaya Contact Center Express, Licensing will no longer be required for Interaction Data Server.

XML Server - requires a one runtime license for each client that is connected.

Configuration Server - this application is not licensed and its runtime usage is free.

Developer built applications:

Each application that is built using the Developer controls requires one runtime license for each instance of the PhoneX control that is used in the application. If your application does not use the PhoneX control then it does not require runtime licensing. If your application is connecting to one of the Active Telephony servers then these servers will require licensing as described above.

There is no specific mention of Active Wallboard in this article. My understanding of the Wallboard is that it sometimes uses a separate license (when undocked) and sometimes does not (when docked to ActiveAgent). I would appreciate confirmation of this distinction. In addition, can the Wallboard be integrated with a non-ActiveAgent application (e.g., a custom VB app with a PhoneX included) and exhibit the same characteristics license-wise? [Editor Comment] At this stage, Active Wallboard does not consume any Licenses in any situation as it does not use PhoneX. It communicates directly with the Interaction Data Server. When docked with Active Agent, it is Active Agent that consumes the license.
